Here are some ways you can support your child as we cover the various topics in Social Studies:

• Provide opportunities to read maps: I know that we are in a "GPS state of mind," but on your next trip - whether it is local or far away cool places, have your child help you locate places on the map and even  help decide the route to take!​
• Read the travel section of newspaper: Have your child learn about new & exciting places in the world just by picking up the newspaper! Extend this activity by researching interesting facts about the places you read about: What is the climate like? What recreational activities do the locals enjoy? How is the geography of the land different from the geography here in Maryland
